Starting your Career: Things I wish I'd known after graduating

Wednesday 29 September 2021

12:00 - 13:00 (BST)

Online via Zoom

Are you currently job hunting or nervous about what the future might hold?

We understand how you’re feeling. To help you, we’ve arranged for a recruitment expert to give you an insight into job searching. Seb Taylor (Philosophy 2012) of Pod Talent was once in the same position you are in now.

In this session, Seb will share the things he wishes he'd known after graduating and discuss key themes and tips across career prospects, recruitment, job searching and CV writing.

With the economy beginning to recover as the country opens up, it’s a more encouraging time to be seeking work than this time last year. Register for Seb’s talk to help you on your way.

Remember that as well as this career talk, you can still access a range of support from the Careers Service.

This event is open to Leeds graduates and final year students.

If you're an international graduate interested in attending this event, we're confident that you'll find the session useful and a lot of the advice will be relevant to you, but please note that while Seb will speak briefly about advice he has for international graduates, we will not be able to cover matters relating to international graduates at length, or answer any specific visa-related questions. Keep an eye out on MyCareer and the Global Careers page for details of more specific online events taking place this year.

This webinar will be recorded and shared with everyone who has registered for the event after the session has taken place.

You can visit our events replay page for previous alumni event recordings including:

- Job hunting as a recent graduate
- How to choose a career and setting goals
- Alternative ways to look for work
