We know how much many of our alumni like to read. That's why we've set up this perfect way for you to talk about books with other alumni.
Join our book club.
This month we’ll be reading A Life on Our Planet by award winning natural history broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. This may be a challenging read as he shares his first hand observations of the decline of the planet’s environment and biodiversity. However, he does offer the hope that if we act now, we can yet put it right.
Join our Leeds Alumni Book Club and talk about the book with other Leeds alumni. It's free to join!
A moderator will lead your conversations, encourage debate, suggest points to consider and share relevant articles. This format allows for ongoing conversation and makes it easy for Leeds alumni to connect with each other. The moderator is from the company PBC Guru, who are helping us run the club.
No. The book club will be entirely online. This means that alumni all over the world can take part and we’ll all benefit from a diverse range of perspectives.
One or two hours a week should be enough to keep you on track with the Leeds Alumni Book Club. We will read a book every two months. There’s no required participation in group discussions so if you find yourself short on time, don't stress.
You will need to supply your own book. The book can be physical or digital.
You're lucky. As a Leeds alum, you don't need to pay for the book club.
Your club will vote to decide which book we read next. You'll be invited to suggest books for inclusion in these regular voting sessions.
Register for free here.
